Ancient Shiva Lingha/Shakti Yoni at Varanasi, III.95. photo by briggi

Just like the jewel in the lotus, just like Om Mani Pedme Hum, just like the yang in the yin (&the yin in the yang), is the Lingha in Yoni. This is universal; this is sacred, representing the highest form of union with the divine that we can aspire to. Note the Kundalini serpent entering the yoni like a sperm, then she encircles ShivaLingham in a spiral way. Such is Shakti.
Shakti Kundalini,... jagad ambe shri Ma.

This venerable example is found riverside to the holy Ganges River, at the Benares ghats. This Shiva-Lingham is larger than most... the yoni yantra measures about 3 meters, carved of native granite. It's kept fenced as a measure of respect for sanctity.

Shiva is the god of yogis/yoginis. ...so this kind of sculpture is a metaphor in stone, explaining the type of energy we enjoy whilst doing yoga.
Namaste & have a nice day.

note the mirror image, minor lingha on the floor to the right. Note also, the sculpture of Nandi, a very special bull, foreground. Nandi represents the blissful state,... and is the vehicle of Shiva.

Namaskar
